Getting Started with Alight Motion App

Alight Motion is a powerful motion graphics and video editing app designed for creators who want professional-level animations right on their mobile devices. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced editor, Alight Motion offers the tools you need to bring your ideas to life.

Use Presets & Fonts

Speed up your workflow by using built-in presets, custom fonts, and saved animations. This is perfect for reels, shorts, and social media videos.

Welcome to your journey with Alight Motion. To begin, tap the plus (+) icon to create a new project. Set the project to a square aspect ratio and choose a frame rate of 30 FPS, which ensures smooth playback across most devices.

After setting up the project, you’ll enter the main editing interface. The preview window at the top displays how your video will look, while the timeline below allows you to organize and manage different layers. The playhead in the center indicates the exact frame currently being previewed.

To add a background, tap the plus icon again, select Media, and choose an image. This image will act as the background for your project. Once added, the layer editing panel opens automatically, allowing you to resize and position the image. Use pinch and drag gestures in the preview area to ensure the background fills the screen properly.

Alight Motion – Importing and Organizing Clips

To add media to your Alight Motion project, begin by tapping the plus (+) icon on the screen. Select Media and choose the photos or videos you want to import from your device. Make sure your files are stored in the Photos app or the Alight Motion folder. It’s also important to confirm that Alight Motion has permission to access your media by checking the app permissions in your device Settings.

After importing, you can organize your clips within the project by dragging and arranging them in the project panel. For better organization, you may create folders, rename clips for easy identification, and add metadata to keep everything neatly structured.

To trim a clip, tap on it in the timeline. Use the trimming tools to adjust the starting and ending points, removing any unnecessary portions. Simply select the clip, choose the Trim option, and cut it at the desired position. Trimming helps refine your video’s pacing and ensures only the most important footage remains.

Applying Effects and Enhancements

To enhance your video in Alight Motion, start by adding effects. Tap on the clip you wish to modify, select ‘Effects’, and then ‘Add Effect’. Experiment with various options like the 3D flip or colorizing effects to see real-time changes. If needed, effects can be removed by selecting the trash icon.

Exporting and Sharing Your Video

When our project is ready for the world to see, exporting and sharing it effectively is crucial. We start by tapping “Export & Share” and selecting the desired video format, whether it’s MP4 for a classic video, GIF for a looping image, or PNG sequences for individual frames. This flexibility ensures that no matter the platform be it Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, or even in a PowerPoint presentation our work maintains its high quality.
